Unfortunately motorsport has claimed another life this weekend with the loss of life to BSB Ashley Martin at the young age of 18 at Cadwell Park.

His name rings a bell for some reason (don't follow BSB). Was he on that Bike program? Pop Idol thing but for bikes.

A year ago it was the sad tale of young Chris Jones who died there at the extremely young age of 14, and now Ashley Martin

Died doing what they loved, but never forgotten

So sad, its a naughty track is cadwell, makes for fantastic racing, and good TV, but I just don't think its safe! The only track on the BSB calender I'd be wary of, wouldent catch me taking mine there!

Edit: Just asked my dad yeah it is Cadwell with the Mountain.

Its called the Mountain and has the highest elevation change of any track in the UK

Its steep just to walk up.

The peak of it sees bikes doing this regularly (some of them land 26ft later)

My dad used to race sidecar outfits and Cadwell was on their calendar, he said they used to get clear of the ground coming out of it too.

He said though that the outfits used to get more air out of Dingle Dell, but it wasn't the same with solos, he doesn't know why.

So does anyone know whether he was on that program (Racing Rivals I think*).

It was like a pop idol thing but off 600cc bikes, winner of the season got a contract with a works team I think.

*EDIT - no Racing Rivals was the same thing but in Seat Leons

rip just shows how dangerous biking is, been lots of deaths recently
