R014 Firmware update for the Sky+ HD STB

For those who are interested, Sky launched the Buy & Keep Box sets today.

The Sky Store app has had a switch enabled so no further update should be required.

Anyone else finding their box is staying 'awake' much more often since this update? Had mine a few days ago and it seems like the HDD is always on now even though the box shouldn't be doing anything. Even when I got home from work today I could hear the HDD running despite no use or recordings all day.

Although this kind of behaviour is often picked up during testing, I can't recall anyone picking it up during the Beta for R014.

Could I ask you to perform a planner rebuild to see if this helps?

I did over the weekend when I first noticed. Seemed to help for a while but then started doing it again today. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days.

Got this on my box a few days ago. Messed up CEC, my amp keeps turning over to the wrong channel now, annoying as hell.

Picture quality is no different at all. It's also generally slower than it was, albeit only a little.

Another meh update from Sky.

Same here, amp seems to randomly choose between different inputs. Overall, I'm not overly impressed with the new update. Picture quality is certainly no different & neither is the sound.
Layout of the main page also seems rather messy.

The signal strength meter in the services menu no longer seems to work since my box updated?

The bars are empty for signal strength and quality - I've been monitoring it each day as I've had problems with about 70% quality but only 20% signal strength - but since the update the meters don't work - i still have channels and hence signal but the meter is giving no info.

Still doing it. I've changed the Standby mode to Eco to see if putting the box to sleep entirely overnight stops it from keeping the HDD on all day, but I've always found in the past that Eco standby makes the box feel less responsive.
