Racism

Lol Racism. I've learnt to deal with it. I find it pathetic people who shout racial slurs. If nothing resolves it, why do it in the first place.

Very true.

I black friend of mine told me an amusing story about 15 years ago. His teacher told their class in Lewisham (mostly black class) that they were not to use the term 'black eye' anymore as it was now deemed racist. He was laughing hysterically about ths when he told me, because he, and all his black friends, use the term 'black eye' and have been all their lives without any thought or feeling that it was derogatory.

I was told off my Neice they werent allowed to sing "Baa baa black sheep" any more in school for this reason also! WTF?! Its Political Correctness that makes a mess of things.

How is that trolling you idiot.

90% of the black people I know are extremely paranoid people. It's a stupid rant. Raciscm exists. It's a well known fact. It's a rare rare thing to find a black person who is not paranoid. They just don't think we as white people treat them the same. You always see it on the TV, Radio etc, Any kind of racism towards a black person / asian it is heavily punished / criticised. But when someone is racist to a WHITE person it's completely different rules. I don't care if they are a minority.

Racism will always exist until the world is over. Accept it and stop your moaning. We can debate for pages and pages but still will end up with nothing.

Stick your "trolling" comment up your jacksy. Don't start a controversial thread and not expect strong opinions in return.

I think maybe your perception of Black people being 'paranoid' about racism is more of a reflection of your own paranoia over making a remark that you assume may be racist and so is based in your own fear rather than any real basis in fact.

Indeed. If anything, it is ridiculous ideas like these, that are cooked up fools who have probably never even met a black person that makes the entire situation worse. It shows a complete lack of understanding of the situation.

Makes me so angry sometimes.

When I was a kid I had a record called 'Little Black Sambo' which was a audiobook of the Helen Bannerman story.

I loved it and never associated it with racism at all (and still don't), yet it is as controversial as ever.

It's ridiculous how something so obviously innocent can be construed in such a negative way.

Explain?

Racism only upsets people whilst they are sensitive enough to give a hoot.

Somebody calls me a wop, it doesn't bother me because I don't let it. I call my irish mates micks, I call my welsh mates sheep-shaggers and I call my AZN friends yellow. None of them care, we give as good as we get and accept that there is some truth in all stereotypes.

Seriously, if you spend your life getting irate and miserable about words, you're going to fail at life pretty hard. Grow up and grow a pair.

we are all racist but some choose to hide it, this thread is proof.

The fact people need to talk about it or even define each 'race' is proof.

based on this logic, we're also all agist, fatist, facist, nosist, hairist, shoest, t-shirtist , roadist, careist, specialist (heh that one actually works),

or in fact "x"ist on anything we ever choose to discuss or note.

I guess that makes the British the most weatherist of all, we never shut up about it.

That we haven't demanded the rain be segregated is a miracle in this case.

I think people (you included) are actually concerned about, you know, real racism not just calling people a name. How about you turn up for a job interview and they say "**** off we're not hiring a wop", or you go swimming and the receptionist says "no wops allowed".

Still only upsetting to the "sensitive ones"?

Well yeah, actually, if that happened you'd sue them for millions without breaking a sweat

The most common form of perceived racism in this country is name calling. There are so many laws in place to prevent active racism as you have described that is is nowhere near as commonplace.

And it's only because of those "sensitive people" who got upset about it that we have those laws.

indeed, yet you've just said racism only affects sensitive people.
