Radeon 4807 or GTX X260

official intel site: http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/x38/x38-overview.htm

what i see is x38, dual x16 and PCI-e 2.0 in the same sentence. willhub is lier after all. (like anyone is surprised at that) :p

I'm not a lier, you're a jerk off..

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1873&l1=3&l2=11&l3=572&l4=0

If you go down to expansion slots you can see, that is where I looked, not on the main page but that page, thats why I thought it was PCI-E x16.

so maybe you believe your own lie then but what your saying even contradicts what intel have said about thier own chipset, in which case that doesnt make you a lier then, but a fool. grow up man and read more on the subject. i didnt step into this thread without looking over the intel tech specs for the x38 chipset and what psychas has said about it is correct.

ok to your edit, how many times have i told you about asus and thier shoddy tactics? why do you believe anything on the asus website, asus claim they use japaneese capacitors yet they were proved to be using cheapo taiwan capacitors on thier motherboards. that says it all about that company man. i dont know why you defend asus so much man its not like you own a asus motherboard now is it?

You jump on every little mistake.
You expect everyone to do hours of research
You call someone a lier for no reason

You tell me to grow up? You tell me I am a fool? You tell me I am a lier? Who do you think you are?

You cant tell me any of that crap, I was just quickly looking for a post, not doing hours of research as there is no need, I was wrong, I did not lie.

If I was lieing it would mean I have not done something I said I have, you need to really get a grip the amount of BS you come out with on here and MSN, its really funny actually.

What's going on here? Another thread in the graphics section turning into a farce and calling someone a liar or a fool?

You've got more than one person making mistakes and posting incorrect information. A joke tbh.

lol, funny reply, dont take much to wind up your clock work.

a question for you. why did you even bother to post in this thread if you had no clue about the technology being spoken of? or do you like turning up with a knife to a gun fight?

How many times? About none....

I dont defend the company, I dont know where you got that from, jesus all I was doing was answering to something, it all started when phsycas or w/e was insiting the P5Q mobo where PCI-E 1.1 when for a fact they are 2.0.

I expected you to know what mobo I am using too.

yea very rare to see these threads in this section mate. takes too much effort to dig them out :p

Yea I got something wrong I know, but it does not warrant that jerk called mav coming in and attempting to call me a lier and **** me off as usual with all his usual BS.

and now in your frustration you use the lords name in vain. will your blasphemy never end? dont blame phsycas for you mistakes. you approached this situation with a closed fist when you shoudl just relax and use open hands to embrace the knowledge the forums have to share.

as for what mobo you use? you change boards on such a regular basis im not sure if you even updated your sig with your current rig setup. but seeing as you use asus, keep an eye on those "solid" capacitors ;)

I'm not blaming him, I said I came in here first and corrected his mistake, and if you bothered to read you would clearly see what mistake it was.

I dont change mobo's on such a regular basis, rubbish, I had a P35C DS3R that I had for 1 yr, then got a P45 Platinum that I had for 1 week then got a P5Q-E and thats it....

i thought i may as well browse the forums on me lunch break since i get very little time to see whats happening on forums etc these days. and things havent changed, willhub posting lies and picking fights with other people. i though i could clear up all this "confusion" in this thread by going to the intel site and getting the info on the x38 chipset and support either phycas or willhub which everone is correct and that woudl be the end of it. but noooo willhub has to be the hardman today. he has his vinnie jones signed keyboard infront of him. bah man i got to get back to work, your antics are costing people time and money as always.

Children, please. :p
can we not just help with the OP's decision?

My suggestion is to get the cheapest one out of the 2. They are both top quality cards and are both more than capable of running everything out today. :)

Thought I'd look on the forum but nooo I see Mav picking the usual fights, typical, typical.

I'm sorry but its mav that turned it into a flame war and phsycas trying to tell me to go to bed as if I'm not taking notice, I was just replying normally but certain people like to start arguments and mav is well known to jump on my comments every time, he's intent on trying to make me out to be an all time well known lier which cant happen as I dont lie.

So what (after all this) is the general consensus on the asus PQ5 board then?

I'm basically looking for some accurate advice on a decent board, around £75-£90 that is socket 775 and has pci E 2.0 (Decided to go with the BFG GeForce GTX 260 OCX MAXCORE 896MB).

I appreciate all the advice posted here, and there is really no need to argue over it imo.

Thanks folks. :D

P5Q would be good enough allthough you dont NEED PCI-E 2.0 mobo to run a PCI-E 2.0 card and using a PCI-E 1.1 mobo with a PCI-E 2.0 card has hardly any performance impact.
