Thanks Gibbo, it's this level of feedback and honesty that sets OcUK apart from most other retailers (As well as the detailed explanation previously with regards to how invoices were raised and how the exchange rate affects this).

I appreciate this and find it interesting to know a little bit more about the inner workings of the shop.

People are quick to accuse OcUK of gouging, but time and again it is proven that other suppliers who are cheaper normally have very little stock at that price.

Some people just can't grasp it or understand, I just checked another major OcUK competitor a bit further north and their 1070 and 1080 pricing, wow, Strix 1070 in stock at £560, OcUK is £499. We have adjusted to new rate, seems some have adjusted and then added a lot more on top......

You better watch out you could get a suspension for talking about competitor pricing :D:D:D.

Looks like I'm holding onto my 390s then.

Interested to see Digital Foundry, Jayztwocents and Linus reviews.

It is a shame yes, but NVIDIA's new products have increased.

The problem now for RX-480 is new GTX 970 and 980 pricing OcUK has with 970 from £209.99 and 980 from £275.99

Always the same and always will be.

lets say the 480 is between a 970 and 980 performance.

970 is slightly cheaper. 980 is 30% more expensive. SO even is the 980 is 30% faster then its the same. You may as well say, dont bother witht he 980 at £275, get the 980ti at £365 which is 40% faster but wait, if you are going to get the 980ti, may as well buy a the 1070 or 1080.......

Personally i think its priced to sell. There are nvidia fanboys who wouldnt buy it any price even if it beat a 980ti at £220,

I read something a day or so ago about some of the test 480's being rubbish for OC and some of the samples seemed to be ok, silicon lottery? needless to say a reference card like this is not aimed at high OC's, that cooler and heatsink is pathetic at best, the cards been designed to run at stock, and while this one review is not painting it in a very good light, i suggest waiting for atleast 5 or so independant reviews from reputable sources to get a picture of the card.

And ontop of that i would again wait to see the aftermarket cooled variants, as these are the cards most people will be interested in buying, those ref cards are ok if your going to WC or perhaps run them in Xfire.

So from my point of view that's not all bad. I'll only be running 1080p, and the price difference between the 980 and the 480 is what over £100? I'm not that desperate for an extra 10fps!
