After suffering issues with my new build which included an X1950 Pro, and posting on the Sapphire forums (GPU Brand) I was convinved by people it was a power issue with my Antec HE 430 PSU.
So, I purchased a Thermaltake Power Express 250W GPU PSU. Then my pc stopped booting with the GPU PSU light coming on very 'dim'. After a week not booting at all.
I then decided to recable the whole GPU section (Inc both PSU's I now have) and it works for a day or so, then won't boot again at all. I found however I could get it to boot by simply tapping the cables going into the Antec PSU inside the case.
From here I thought, a-ha, it's a PSU issue, then decided (rightly or wrongly) to purchase a new PSU to go with my Thermaltake power express. The PSU I bought didn't have to be the best in the world as the Thermaltake would sort out my current and future graphical power needs. I purchased an FSP Sparkle Blue Storm 400W.
Now then, after installing my new PSU I have Dim Light syndrome again on the Thermaltake, which then resulsts in my PC screen flashing in red letters 'PLEASE PLUG PCI-E POWER LEAD INTO YOUR GRAPHICS CARD' or similar. I've lived with this for about 7 weeks having to rattle the case numerous times before it will boot. Until tonight, I though sod this and have removed the Thermaltake, and behold it boots no probs.
So, my long and drawn out question is, will this 400w FSP PSU be sufficient for my X1950 Pro 256mb card? I run 1xdvdrw, 2xsata hdd and 1 c2c 6600.
