I know this is a total n00b question, so forgive me...

It seems I might be getting a X800 GTO card but would it work with the motherboard I have? It's a Gigabyte GA 8IPE1000 Pro.

Plus, I know next to nothing about PCI-E so have to idea if it would work in the board or with the PSU, which is an Akasa Ultra Quiet 460W Paxpower Active PFC.

Aghhhhhhhh...

That motherboard only supports AGP 8x. If the X800 GTO is PCI-e then you'll need a new motherboard. However if the X800 is an AGP then it'll be fine. That power supply will be fine aswell

Thanks - yes it's a PCI-E card. I have no idea which mobo to get for that though. I want to upgrade to a Intel Core Duo CPU in the future and at the moment I have a P4 2.8 Ghz. Which PCI-E mobo will work with my current CPU and be able to support a Core Duo later on [sorry this has turned into a mobo discussion]?
