Hey,

I'm after a radio controlled nitro truck of somekind, Is there kits out there include everything but I can make it? < I find this the most enjoyable part actually!
Been looking at the Schumacher series, I live in the country so not really after a car. Would like nitro over electric for the speed

Anyone got any recommendations?

Budget is £200 really but can stretch for the correct model :)

Thanks

Not sure on kits tbh.

I've got a Hot Bodies Lightning 2 and a Tamiya TNX.

I think you'd find the Tamiya to be an amazing bit of kit, I love mine to pieces. Even at stock it kicks :D

The Tamiya .18 engine is really high revving and with the 2speed gearbox it really makes it fly. Starts like a dream to boot.

The Savage kits are always good, extraordinarily durable! The only problem is they're not that fast, and getting to the diffs is a nightmare!!

The Schumacher Havoc is a nice bit of kit too, but only 2WD so not to my taste. But that's only my opinion!

Anything else just ask :)

Leave you with a pic of my TNX :D

Basically that's the Nitro Thunder in kit form and with tarmac tyres. I really don't recommend it.

It's actually 1/10 scale, even though it says oversized. The engine is really appalling as well! Add to this short reach suspension and almost no ground clearance - the car is only useful onroad. Offroad it just cannot cope.

If you want a buggy, I'd recommend a true 1/8th scale, such as the Hobao Hyper 8 or the Hot Bodies Lightning 2.

The Lightning 2 comes in two forms, RTR and Pro. Go for the RTR, its strong enough to withstand one hell of a thrashing, and the engine (a .26) is extremely torquey. However it does lack in speed, and the omission of a 2speed box (for a centre diff) means it's not all that quick. But its the most reliable engine I've ever seen.

The Hyper 7/8 ranges are just really good models, most of them with a .21 engine, either a 4 or 8 port. Have a higher redline than the HB .26, but not as reliable. Even so, fantastic pieces of kit.

I know these are both above your £200 budget, but believe me you'll regret it if you don't go for something good first time.

Thought I'd bump this rather than create a new post. Does anyone know a decent forum I can get support on my RC car?
Its a Tamiya, and the Tamiya club aren't accepting new registrations at the mo.

Thanks

Bought it to get into RC Nitro and it's great for beginners, easy to maintain and setup, plus it's cheap so it's not so bad if you kill it. It's not a kit, but there are lots of upgrades for it so you could buy it stock then upgrade it a lot which would be effectively rebuild it anyway.

I have the same one and it's brilliant. :)

It's getting replaced by the Firestorm for about the same price.

www.maxbashing.com for offroad stuff.

KizZ, The Firestorm doesn't look like that much of an improvement really. Just do what I did and fit an OS .18 CV-RX into the Rush Evo. :D

Dont' suppose there's anyone in the North East that knows anything about Thunder Tiger TS4Ns is there?

Email FAO Chris @ [email protected]. Ask when they will be accepting new users.

Hope that resolves your problem Andybstn.

Is that even tuned properly? It seems very sluggish and slow.
