Hi guys,

RELEVANT SPECS: ASUS P6N32-E SLI PLUS NVIDIA 680I CHIPSET
O/S: XP ON RAID 0 BUT WANT VISTA 64 OEM
HDISK: 2 X WESTERN DIGITAL SATA RE ON RAID 0 (2 X 250GB)

I installed windows xp MCE on my 2 x western digital sata re 250gb harddrives
quite easy. Using the asus disk to make the floppy , enabling raid in bios and installing drivers during windows with f6 and the floppy disk.

HOWEVER, I have purchased vista ultimate 64bit OEM.

I want that on the raid drive too. On my ASUS disk it only has a make raid driver for xp 64 or 2003 64 (WOULD the 2003 64BIT FLOPPY DRIVER MAKER work?).

WOULD THE BELOW PROCESS BE RIGHT TOO???

1) Then I take it just boot on vista, but select install drivers when prompted and put disk in.

2) However I dont want to lose my xp and have not set up partions yet(although Im sure vista will do this), best to select new install..... and then what?? :( :( a GUIDE would be helpfull bearing in mind raid is already set up for xp with no partion!!

Thank you very much, help is appreciated, If the 2003 wont work on vista let me know(im dwnload vista 64 raid from internet but taking ages so hopefully can use that).

You'll need the Vista x64 driver for the RAID controllers, I very much doubt that the server 2k3 one will work.

Not sure about dual booting XP & Vista from the same partition, it may be possible it may not. If it isn't then you're in trouble, you'll need to use something like Partition Magic to shrink your existing XP partition to create enough unallocated space to allow a new partition for Vista to be created.
