Hope he comes back. Love the guy. He's almost a modern day Hunt. Any driver who, 30 minutes before he has to get in the car for his first F1 race, is found asleep in the back of one of the team trucks, is awesome.
He was a great fit for McLaren, but Newey just couldn't build a reliable car for him. He should have had 2 titles during his time there. Off to Ferrari he went and really didn't fit in. Always looked uncomfortable there.
Who can forget his interview on the grid in Brazil with Martin.

Brundle asked him if he went to the presentation for Schumacher.
Raikkonen responded with a grin that he was having a 'sit down lavatorial experience'
Brundles response was to thank him and then go on to say that at least he will have a light car at the start.

That part of him was fun, the problem was that in a serious interview it was cringeworthy and sleep inducing.
