My father is on some rallying committe that organised yesterday's Trans-Scottish Challenge Car Rally for classic cars. Loads of varied cars from varied eras were taking part including Robbie Coltrane and his son in their 1954 Bentley! Quite a nice guy who is very knowledable about cars but dislikes talking about his private life. Fair enough, he was out with his son to enjoy the day. However they did have a small crash with a BMW on a road section between stages. Can't say any more though!

Anyway, my father and I were closing car for the rally in the mx5. Was an awesome day out with some beautiful scenery and even although we were closing car we had a few hairy moments. Some of the road were amazing but the "Rest and be Thankful" Hillclimb was extremely rough but very good fun as you can see from the pics. My friends entered in their Integrale, and another (against recommendations) entered his Soarer! Boy he wasn't happy going up some of the hillclimbs!

Enjoy!

Yeh, thats the one.

p.s - As you can see from the second pic there was a camera crew, so if you're interested coverage of the rally is on tv in about half a hour appraently.

The "closing" car bascially heads off 30mins after everyone has set off on the same route as the rally cars to close the stages and make sure no one has borken down and if they have to report it to the marshall at the next stage so they aren't waiting around for ages.

As for the tv show it's on tomorrow night at some point because you English hasd another Bank Holiday or somat ;)
