hi

just got my new stuff and will assemble tomorrow.

i want 2 gig of ram to replace my geil value dual channel 1 gig kit - nice ram i found.

however, what is the best ddr2 ram to stick in this thing to play with my e6300 dual core chip.

cheap value ram, 2 gig of ddr1 3200 ram or is there a good cheapish ram that you guys are using in this board.

i doubt i'll be overclocking by the way.

I definitely would buy DDR2 RAM and, although you're not overclocking, I would buy 'fast' RAM - PC6400 at least, just for the future. The Geil kit is on special this week - £162+delivery or the PC6400 OcUK Value RAM is £146+delivery and looks like it's pretty good stuff for those overclocking on a budget. The Crucial Anniversary RAM looks truly extraordinary - yes it is £210 but I have seen a screenie where it was running 5-6-6-18 at 600MHz!

So, in my opinion - if you want good at low cost, OcUK Value, best potential for low cost and quick resale - Geil and if you think you'll ever want to overclock like a crazy man - Crucial Anniversary.

This MB only runs 5300 RAM though, so if you don't upgrade very often, you may be able to save yourself a few pennies.

The cheapest 2Gb kit of RAM on the OcUK website is the OcUK PC6400 Value RAM. Most other places are selling PC4200 or PC5300 for that sort of money. It is a bargain, really. If you can call any RAM a bargain at the moment.
