Random people at your door

There is this girl(think she was from Spain,Portugal or maybe Romania, judging by the accent), comming to our door asking us to either buy some cards for 5 pounds each(?!?) or simply give her money(she claims she needs them for studies). We said no to which she started saying arguing with us over how generally her life is hard etc, things that hardly bother me since I dont consider my life such an easy ride either(which is the case with most ordinary people). Anyway, so we tell her final no and close her the door just to realise later on that she cut off a few flowers from one of the pots in our front garden, as some weird mean of revenge. The flowers arent a major deal and we will sort them out but what the hell is with that mentality?

In addition, this is one of the three random people over the course of the week. The other two were ok blokes though, one from gas company and the other from "Friends of the earth", both of which I felt kinda bad saying that Im not interested at the moment. Still though...how do you deal with those people and are there any factors for them to come very often at certain periods of time or it is a pure coincidence?

Don't feel bad, you do get some people door begging from time to time - how on earth are you supposed to know if their life is hard or if it's a scam...

Could either put up a sign saying no beggars/charities etc.

I dont even speak to them, just shut the door. We get ones that dont even speak to yo, you open the door and they stick a sign in your face asking for money.

Heh. Once some guy came to our door offering to tarmac our drive for "real cheap mate". We said no thanks then as he left our drive and out of the gates he got arrested by the police. LMAO!

I had someone trying to sell me duvets and quilts the other week. Was slightly odd to say the least.

we seem to get "students" selling their art.

i dont bother answering the door now. someone knocked round today and he could clearly see that i was sat watching TV but im not interested.

and now all the campaigners are knocking round....she clearly saw me n the boyfriend leave the house and get in the car but she stll came and OPENED THE CAR DOOR! i was shocked, we told her we werent interested as we were only 17 even though we've been able to vote for 2 years now.

Few have come around to ours. One girl brought some amazing drawings, so we bought those. And another girl brought some jewelry boxes which were exactly the same as my sisters that she got from India (paid about 20p for them), the girl wanted £15, we said no

Like said before we sometimes get students selling thier art. I usually ask for thier NSU card and normally say that i cant afford any and ask if i can see thier work and invite them in. Met a really sound lad once like this. His art was amazing... Very impressive stuff. Introduced him to a guy i know that knows his stuff and he bought a load off him... he was very pleased. I must say it was nice to meet someone genuine that was doing that sort of thing. but had my runins with the scroungers too.. normally tell them i have no money and they will usually leave and go next door. Arguing with them or tellign them to **** *** will normally just end in them exacting some form of retribution...

I get at least 3 people a week trying to persuade me to change suppliers of something. Can't say i care for it much. Had a funny girl once though, quite good looking. Convo went like this:

/me opens door
her: Hello sir, how are you today?
me: I'm fine thanks, how are you?
her: What?
me: What?
her: Sorry you're the first person to say that to me ever, i'm fine thanks!

Then she started her sales pitch and i politely told her where to go

She was a bit of a looker, oriental girl. If she asked to come in to see some genuine Hampshire White Trouser Snake i would have gladly taken her upstairs and shown her the goods.

Also, why don't i get Art students trying to sell their art? I need some stuff to put on the walls so come round my house and i might buy some
