RIGHT!

Happy with Virgin since they were cable and wireless from 9 years ago.

...UNTILL.

July 3rd: My contract (aka my mum's not mine, but it includes her me, my bro and my sis) with the land lord for over 9 years ended. Leaving my homeless.....:(

August 3rd: Moved into a knewly fitted maisonette with a five year contract:cool: But virgin dont offer a cable service there.

August 3rd: THERES NO BT LINE INSTALLLED IN THE PROPERTY!

August 3rd: went to my aunts and called up bt. they told us a live line was there.

August 4th: After checking, and re-checking the whole maisonette 3 times there was no socket, but the line has been cut off from the out side. We can see it there hanging.

August 4th: We call up BT, and they tell us they will call us back to send an engineer....cost £124.99

August 5th: we call again as engineer hasnt called. they say he will call today, and take a £50 refundable deposite.

Every ****** day untill today we call them up and the same old crap is given to us about the engineer is going to call us.

WHAT THE FLIP CAN I DO. 3 Months with no phone, government TV (not that its a bad thing) or internet. ( thank god for the net cafe and school)

ARGH

Someone help

BT are poor. Its such a rip off charging 125 to be connected, thankfully the house i just moved into had Virgin which saved us that money....

If BT can see the line is live, and it's only be cut off outside, it wouldn't have been all that difficult reconnecting it yourself and save involving BT.

I'm sure if the line is live, and it is just the matter of a cut connection wire, especially one that is visible to you, you could probably hire out a private engineer that would do it for a cheaper price. Much quicker too.

Drill a hole in the wall, push the wire in, open the end of the wire and plug it up to a socket and stick it on yah wall, job done, get a tutorial of how its done good and proper off the net...

BT are a joke, cable are awsome, i missed cable wen i lived in devon, BT said they were gonna come out for like 3 months, they claim they know it all but they cant actually see what goes on in homes unless they go out and look...

They eventually came out, 2 of them, laptop plugged up and everything and it turned out they had a problem on the exchange... noobs...

have moved back to bradford, now living with my mum and she has cable and she has had it for close to 4 years with not one problem, (touch wood), hope it lasts.

Im with Virgin, ther ace.

Never had a problem with BT, they came to my flat where the line had been disconnected and reconnected it free.

Dont have a problem with them at all, on the other hand I hate NTL

KaHn

Do you really need to pay? I was told BT have entire responsibility the connection up to your house. So if its outside your house, they fix it free of charge. If its in your house then they charge you for it. Thats what i was told anyway.

And yeah, BT is a huge joke. I pre-ordered my broadband+line activation a month in advance of moving in. On moving day i discover they hadn't done anything. Spent £60 on phone credit ringing these idiots up who always seemed to contradict each other. 3 weeks after i moved in i finally got my connection sorted. Their customer support is appauling...i always spend a minimum of 40mins on hold, and their BT Home Hub is even worse than their customer support.

Makes me wonder why you have to pay line rental nowadays if you have to pay for BT to even look at your line anyway.

Total joke tbh.

Ring up and ask for contact details of the chairman's office, as you wish to complain. If they're not prepared to jump and get anything done there and then, actually write or contact chairman's office and complain there. 9 times out of 10 they'll send a JFDI to whoever is responsible.
