Well last night I had 14 people over to my house for drinks before we left for town. At about 10.30pm a beer can gets thrown at the upstairs window and a couple of drunk mates at my house run out the front door (whilst I was trying to stop them from going out) and follow a group of lads aged between 15 and 25 up the street.

I went out after a few more of my mates got out there and see a pretty big fight going on involving about 10 people. One of my mates gets smacked over the head with a metal bar, and another gets hit across the head with a stone brick from the top of a wall (which actually smashed when it hit him in the head).

About 5mins later we have a riot van and 2 police cars coming up the street and everything settles down - 10mins later the police have gone.

One of the lads turns up a bit later, ***** looking council estate thing - telling the girls in the house to make sure they aren't sleeping in the place for the next week cus him and his brothers are gnna burn the place down because he thinks one of my mates has taken his phone during the fight.

One of the girls from my house managed to find his phone lying in the street and calm him down, he says nothing will happen now.

Later that evening I find out that the fight was with a gang who killed a man at the end of our road a few years back - and there are three houses on the street who have families involved in this - one next door to ours, two more a bit further up.

I'm annoyed with my mates for bringing this to my front door - they'd b fuming if it was their house involved - now my house is a target when none of the people living here had anything to do with it.

Will have to see how it all goes, but already today I've had some pretty dodgy people staring me out up and down the street.

Rant over... It's probably all mouth anyway - still makes living and sleeping slightly less uncomfortable for the rest of my contract (till May).

The mates who ran out there say that not doing anything just makes problems worse - gangs and people like this need to realise they can't get away with doing things like that.

I can see their point of view, but my argument is if they didnt go running out and confronting them - there wouldnt have been any problems!!! It's all stemmed from them.

as long as its not your house - they are stupid so if they try plan anything you got until atleast september before they try perform it.

you may want to inform your land lord lol

also - you could always burn their houses before they burn yours?

I'd be a bit worried too actually in those circumstances. I'm not sure what I would do, possibly try to smoth things over with them? no one needs grief and hassle on the doorstep every day.

Lesson learned: never have parties at your own place with people who may get drunk and out of control... always goto someone else place!

choose better friends hopefully nothing more happens but the sooner your out of an area like that anyway the better

Buy a shotgun.
Shoot any idiots coming onto your property.

Shame that aint legally possible in Europe :(.
Such gangs should be taught that people will fight back.

Well this photo is before it got nasty.

It must have been quite funny for the neighbours seeing a load of clowns running out of a house after a group of ppl.

would have been strange for the people fighting them too.

That face paint (or is it a mask) is damn good!

Would it be a good idea to say you have received threats to the police, so they know, if something bad does happen, who to ask first.

Yeah it was face paint, was a late 20th bday for me as I couldnt celebrate it with my Uni mates on the 26th Dec.

Was pretty good fun seeing the reactions of people in town that night - the bar crawl was immense.

Here's me.
