If DLVR makes the cut for desktop, you’ll have good headroom to play with for oc purposes.
From the article someone linked about dlvr it just flattens the voltage curve rise caused by llc, will reduce voltage at light loads but will diminish as the load increases cant see this helping max oc potential, really just a power saving feature.

20% faster in MT for a lower power/clock engineer sample
A direct quote for those who prefer to have some context to go with your somewhat flamboyant comments.

"The multi-threading performance improvement of the processor is still very obvious. It has increased by 20% at the same frequency. This is obviously due to the doubling of the number of E-Cores."

20% isn't bad, not great either. If it comes directly just from the increased E cores, it's a bit disappointing. I don't think mainstream users need more MT performance, both the 5950x and the 12900k have plenty of freaking MT. The problem is, because the HEDT is now kinda dead, they are pushing all these - otherwise would be - HEDT CPUS into the mainstream.

The CPU’s are also clock matched in the comparison btw.
They are not, 12900K was locked at 3,8ghz meanwhile 13900 non K ES was scoring in single core CB R20/23 same as ADL at 3,4ghz.

CBR20 514ST = 3,4ghz on ADL
CBR23 1334ST = 3,4ghz on ADL.

More 13900k leaks, this from an ES3 engineering sample which is able to do 5.5ghz single core.

The owner of this chip says the max single core is 5.5ghz, in multicore the max the P cores get to is 5.2ghz and max of E core is 4ghz. He says he was not able to modify the clock speed as the chip doesn't allow overclocking

Monstrous performance! Imagine what retail chips will do, with boost enhancements from good motherboards enabled, plus overclocking, >900 CPUZ ST should be easy even on air :)

For people not familiar, its goes ES (Engineering Sample) phases, then QS (Qualification Sample) stage when is what's generally close to final for retail.

The ES stage will generally have revisions as board partners and early field trial select customers will provide feedback. Then QS is just making sure it's all good and only minor microcode changes are needed before retail.

ES and QS are Intel 'owned' meaning whoever has them doesn't technically own then and can be recalled by intel. However, reality is that so many get made and passed around, they end up for sale.

Seems someone already sold a fully working 13900K ES part - https://www.techpowerup.com/296262/...r-lake-processor-goes-on-sale-on-black-market

They only sold it for $426 which is pretty cheap considering the RRP for the chip, yeah there a risk but that is not a half bad deal really.
More info about the CPU. It's an ES1 with limited overclocking so probably not the best deal in the world.

Just saw these results on Videocardz. Less than a 10% improvement in single core performance vs the 12900K or KS, by the looks of things. The all core boost speeds look basically the same as the 12900KS.

I suppose that'll be why Intel didn't mention ST performance on their slide. So, you get a nice boost in multicore 'score', this is pretty much exactly what I thought we'd get.

I think Zen 4 will probably match Intel's 12th gen in ST performance, not sure yet about the 13th gen.
