PS- you think that ati graphics chip can handly vista Aero ok ?

Looks like a good lappy to me, although to be honest I haven't seen how good they can get.

As for the graphics card you should have no problem. People with 4 year old graphics cards can run Aero so you shouldn't have a problem.

As an aside, why the hell do companies market Vista as "Genuine Windows". It would be bloody poor show if Dell or the like started sticking hooky Windows on their computers :p

hmmm I got £4k in the bank and could buy this easy.
I'm sure It gets harder to spend money as you get older (32) :(

PS- do you think i would have many issues with Vista using it for my previously highlighted needs?

I have a friend with the exact same one (I think) it runs vista perfect

My Laptop runs vista ultimate fine with aero

I was going to buy one of those exact laptops but I never got around to it. Got a spec from Dell sales. You can haggle the price down a lot with them :D

Note this spec is a few months old, see what you can get from dell sales :)
