So whoever you support no matter what division from Highlands to the lowlands from the Prem to the conference. How did your team fair at the end compared to how you thought they would do last August. Not a thread for out and out gloating. Just a pure and honest assesment of how the season panned out.

For me if someone said you will win the Prem, Runners up in the cup and and semi finalists of the Champions league and you will do it with Ronaldo as leading scorer then I would have bitten their arm off. Good football pretty much all season. We were very lucky with injuries despite the defence taking a hammering in the final 6 weeks or so. I don't think we would have done as well if Rooney or Ronaldo would have had sustained injuries. Despite how much the team has matured over the year, I think it shows we need to strengthen key positions with quality players

Overall score for me 8/10

Been an excellent season for my team (Aberdeen), qualifying for Europe is probably the highlight (looking forward to going out to some Eastern European diddy team in the first round :p ) and finishing only 7 points behind Rangers is another highlight. That's about as good as it gets realistically outside the big two unless you've got a mad multi-billionaire banker behind your team. Calderwood seems to be running a tight ship as well which is always a good thing.

Jokester

Edit: Saying that my other team lost the Highland League title on the last day of the season on goal difference :(

Bristol Rovers:

Excellent season, last 8 games we have been the best in the division, we should be favourites to win the playoff final next saturday (i will be there!).

Have done well in cups as well, played in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final (after beating Bristol City who have been promoted to the championship).
Fourth round of the FA Cup, lost to Derby, however, rovers were the better team.

Liverpool:

Im sure that someone else will give more detail, which i will leave to them, however, imo it has been average. Poor in the fa cup, poor in league cup, average / good in the league (ok we finished 3rd, but it would be good to be hitting the top 2).
Champs league will hopefully be the saving grace of our season, providing we can beat milan.

Bristol Citys season
GERT LUSH!
(apart from losing to Rovers, but who cares, we are championship say we are championship!)
Played brilliantly against Middlesborough and Coventry in the FA cup.

I can't really say 10/10 when we only won one trophy, but I would have taken the league in an instant at the start of the season.

9/10

If Liverpool finish runners up in the Champions league then is that a poor season for them ?

It would remain average tbh, the average rating is based on where they are now (finalist of the CL), winning the CL would boost my rating for them to good

Barnsley = Stayed up, so it's a success in my eyes.

Arsenal = Underachieved, but not too bad with the youngsters coming through and taking into consideration the injuries.

I think the young gunners have played very well this year, they demolished liverpool :]

If we win then its a good season if we lose its been a poor one, simple as that tbh.

League specific - Poor start to the season which we never recovered from; too many of the big players didn't perform early on, that coupled with injuries to Carra and Sissoko meant we couldn't stay in touch with Utd and Chelsea. Had a decent mid-season but fell away towards the end, though mainly due to resting players etc for CL.

Spurs - i thought we finished the season well, after some poor league results. Jol has done well and has a good foundation to build upon. We're a bit fragile at the back and if he can tighten them up there we can do better next season.

Spurs = about same as last season ;)
You reckon?

Last season:
Prem: 5th
F.A. Cup: 3rd Round
League Cup: 3rd Round
Europe: n/a

This season:
Prem: 5th
F.A. Cup: Quarter Finals - knocked out by eventual winners
League Cup: Semi-Finals - aet
UEFA Cup: Quarter Finals - knocked out by eventual winners

Also set new British Record for most consecutive wins in Europe - 8 :)

That's a grand total of 19 extra games over last season.

I think this season has been a success, we've progressed and played some of the best football seen in the Prem. Scored over 100 goals aswell.

True true , I am spurs fan , BUT I just think we should have either broke into top 4 or won some shiny sliver stuff this season. Maybe asking to much who knows just my opinion :o

With a bit of luck we could have won something but it's a big ask. Both domestic cup finals were won by Chelsea this year!

We were absolutely robbed against Sevilla, I reckon any team would have struggled to beat Sevilla over two legs with such ridiculously biased ref's... you just cannot blame Jol or the players for what happened there, it's just cup football and you need lady luck with you.

Losing Carrick. Zokora and Berbatov picking up injuries straight away and needing a few months to get used to the Prem just cost us too much ground in the first half of the season to finish 4th. Then we lost King and Jenas for such a large chunk of the season, that cost us.

Last year we played some boring football but we ground out a lot if undeserved victories and almost nicked 4th. This year we've played some beautiful football, second only to Man Utd at times.

Agree with all of the above lets just hope we can keep all our star players this summer. I really do believe we can break the "untouchable" top four next season, lets just hope our players do :o

I think of all our top players Chimbonda is the most likely to leave, I keep hearing Chelsea are sniffing. After the way he treated Wigan I think he'll be off if he hears about Chelsea or Man Utd being interested. The rest I think will stay :)

Arsenal are not "untouchable", neither are Liverpool domestically, especially if they lose Gerrard for any length of time next season. I think we'll push them very hard next season :)

Its laughable to say Liverpool's season has been "average" even if we lose in the Champions League, its the biggest club competition in the world ffs!

If we lose the final 7/10, if we win 8/10.

Brighton: League One (reality: Division 3)

Expected: mid table mediocrity

Final Placing: below mid table mediocrity

Champions League: Not entered this year :D

FA Cup: highlight 8 goals put past Northwich Victoria (it's great to bring big teams to their knees!!)

I'd like to welcome Leeds to our division for next season. :)

Along with Forest, that's two mahoosive former big clubs to look forward to beating ;)
