RC Helicopters

Got my son one of the nanocopters after seeing it being demoed in a large department store... we've been having great fun with it. So easy to control, and has survived several large crashes (which means it's better than the Air Hogs plane he had before).

I used to have a nitro one, got rather too expensive to keep the thing in the air to be honest.
So sold it and bought some nitro buggies instead

Stick a blob of blue tack on the nose to weigh it down a bit. Then give it some thrust to get it airborne using the trim button to stop it rotating. You'll then find that instead of it just going up or down it moves forward and you can use the other control to steer the copter.

The guy selling me the copter suggested I do that, when I was chatting to him for about 10 minutes in Debenhams just before Xmas. His advice was to let my son practice without the added weight, so that he got the hang of being able to make it hover, without just crashing into the ceiling, and then to add the blue tack once he'd got that sorted.

I've got one of the little picoo z's, took it apart a few months ago and replaced the brass bushes with 3mm bearings and the propshaft with one made of carbon fibre. Made the world of difference, its flies so smoothly now.

I got a Picoo Z for christmas, so much fun but make sure their isnt a draft. and get some extra tail fins as they can break easily after a lot of crashing ^_^.

My neighbour got one for Xmas, and flew it over the garden fence and hoovered in front of my patio door. Scared the cr*p outta me !!!

What type of helicopter are we talking about here a Picoo Z type or a proper 4-6 channel helicopter?

Its from a competitor so cant link but its called Remote Control Mini Pixie Helicopter

I got one of the little baby ones, and a scaled-up version about 60cm long.

The little one's great fun and very easy to fly - the big one's just a little more imposing to have flying near you :D

Let my dad have a go with it - first thing he does is see how high it can fly. Of course, it got to about 80 feet (long out of range by then), went over the house and plummeted to the ground.

Perfectly fine, much to our suprise!
