re: 580 sli to single gtx 680 - is it worth it?

I've gone from 580's in sli to a single 680. For the resolution I currently play at it's more than capable. (1920x1080)
A 680 is faster than a 580 so sometime in the near future if I get a bigger monitor and want to run with higher res a pair of 680's will be considerably quicker than a pair of 580's. They will also run cooler and quieter whilst consuming far less energy. If I had of waited for a few months before upgrading, the 580's wouldn't fetch so much second hand so now is an ideal time to sell them on.
With your cards being 3GB I would say hang onto them if you don't look to upgrade very soon and don't mind the power consumption etc. They are more than capable of playing the latest and upcoming titles for a while yet.

stay with 2x 580 3gb. Maybe when the 680 4gb's release but even then... it's pretty useless if you ask me
