Hi guys just looking for some advice regarding this subject.

I am currently 12 months into a 24 month Vodafone contract which I have been paying £35p/m for 750mins, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Internet on a Business Tariff. (They put me on this in store to match an online deal rather than a standard customer contract)

How open are mobile phone companies in terms of renegotiating the contract? I really feel as if I need nowhere near the contract that I'm currently on at the moment and would like to try and drive down the monthly cost by cutting down on the minutes etc.

What's the best approach to look to do so?

Cheers.

I rang them up and badgered them 12 months into my 18 month contract, and they dropped me to £30 p/m from £35, but I had to drop from 750mins/250 texts to 300 mins/unlimited texts.

Spurred on by this post I called Vodafone. I am now paying £15 a month for 300m/unlimited SMS/Unlimited Data for the next 3 months till my contract ends. So that was a good result :)

Well because I've been signed up to something which is called Your Plan I am unable to change or re-negotiate the terms on my Vodafone contract whatsoever throughout the term of the contract....extremely ****** off with this

I know we sign up to 24month terms on deals now etc but at no point was it explained to me during the sale of the mobile contract that this would be non negotiable or flexible throughout the minimum term, if I knew there was no way in which to do so I would have obviously thought twice about signing up.

I told the guy in the Vodafone store what I was looking for essentially with the contract and he said he couldn't match that, went away spoke to his manager and explained that he could put me on a business contract which would match what I was looking for. At no point did he describe the limitations with going onto such a deal.

Basically Vodafone have said they can't do anything and that's it!!!

Really dont know what to do next regarding this :(

I am on a YP (Your Plan) contract and i got told by customer services they couldnt do it.

When i was in phones4u they called Retentions and got the tarrif reduced for me :)

So i would try and get through to retentions and see what they can do

From £35 - £30 pm so they can do it :)

Problem is retentions are for when you're looking to disconnect from the deal so I basically have to go them saying I want to cancel my contract to speka to them?! :S
