Hi all,

I have been with sky broadband now for the past 6 months and it hasnt been to bad. I normally connect between 5 & 6 MB. Now over the fast couple of days my connection is only connecting at 3.5Mb for some reason. I have re-booted my router several times and its still only connecting at 3.5mb.

I have enclosed my line stats to see if anyone can see any concerns with them before I get onto sky :(

Connection Speed 3776 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 43.0 db 27.0 db
Noise Margin 12.6 db 14.0 db

Is there anything that I can do to resolve this?

Your SNR margin's fairly high, but if that persists when you restart the modem it would seem to imply Sky are doing something.
 
Might be worth your while giving them a quick call (08442 410 515) and making sure your line's not been capped down with one of their automatic line recalibrations. Am assuming with your upstream connection speed your on the Mid Package?

I'd swear by them - though I'm sure there's lots of people who would swear at them :p

Granted they dont rate very highly in this link but I'm sure others will post their experiences.

cheers. BT have been good. Sky is obviously appealing due to the cost but don't want any problems. Anyy other user experiences of them on here?
