RE3 Remake HDR worked, and then it didnt?

Just trying to find out what's going on here.

I had RE3 running with HDR and it looked great. Played an hour or 2.

Returned the next day and instantly noticed, even from the main menu, that everything is suddenly dull/greyish with HDR turned on.

Then HDR turned itself off and wouldnt let me toggle it back on.

And then even in the windows desktop HDR setting. I'd toggle it on, the screen would flicker but the slider would stay in the off position.

I think part of this has to be an issue with nvidia resolution settings/colour settings etc but I'm not too sure. Any one have any tips? I know in many cases HDR on PC has been hit or miss but this one was working lovingly. Spent an hour messing with PC and tv settings last night and just gave up

Haven't had this issue before. Have you tried reinstalling your gpu drivers?

probably doesn't help but the only issues I've had with HDR is sometimes when i've run in windows borderless mode, toggled between borderless and full screen then re-launching the game fixed it.
