Real noobie question about channels.

I have 4 slots on my B450 AORUS M and 2 sticks of RAM, which slots should they go in?
In days gone by the slots or channels were colour coded but not it seems today.

I only found out this week from a very helpful forum member that my memory where in the wrong slots because Gigabytes manual is useless and they say which slots to use in the online memory compatibility list, something that I have never looked at before. Looking at the list for your board, for a pair of sticks to run in dual channel it states at the bottom:-

Install the modules into DDR4_1, DDR4_2 for better compatibility.
