So i decided to use my old 27'' Samsung tv as a second monitor, i put it on the wall all was going perfect until it came to changing to resolution and refresh rate.

When i try and select 1080p it says mode is not supported, when i try and select a different refresh rate it also says the same. at the moment my screen is all flickery and weird, i can choose 60 hertz as a refresh rate at 720p but the taskbar and windows are huge then.

any help would be amazing thank you!

also it says on amd catalyst control that my screens maximum resolution is 1920x1080 and maximum refresh is 60hz. http://gyazo.com/e92df4c9c3d240b12f46c03090cb4c27

Also for some reason my mouse pointer has gotten huge! what could this be?

Google suggests this only has a resolution of 1366 x 768 so that may be the cause. CCC is lying to you it seems.

Alternate answer is the cable you are using doesn't support 1080p although I can't offer much more on that.
