Reccomend Me some good hosting

TSO host are good if you dont need much space and bandwidth but you dont get many MYSQL databases. Serverage are good from what I herd on these forums a lot of space a lot of MYSQL space and the webdrive feature makes it good aswell. Or you can try various american hosts but I would stick to european hosts....

www.tsohost.co.uk check them out they are good and very good support the best I have seen. I only left them due to limited space now im leaving my current host to go back to a UK host :(. Also check the sticky at the top :).

Heres a link for you www.ochostreview.co.uk :).

I'm looking for similar hosting - here's a few names for you (hope thats okay with the mods, if not remove).

  • ultimahosts.net
  • dailyrazor.com
  • dv8media.co.uk
  • cyberhostpro.com
  • hostingfest.com
  • redfoxhosting.com
  • openmindhosting.co.uk
  • csnewmedia.co.uk

As always, give them a good review/Google before deciding as I haven't settled on any myself yet.

Thanks but looking for SQL 2005 not MySQL. Don't really need a lot of space or bandwidth tbh.

I'll probably be lynched for this since we now own Tsohost but since we've already been mentioned I might clear up that they/we have SQL 2005 on our Windows/Helm cluster. Email/call for details as it's not yet mentioned on the website.

Fasthosts or Catalyst2 for me, probably going with Fasthosts soon for a new ecommerce site Im putting together with .NET 2 and SQL 2005. All depends on a few things I need to check with them.

Catalyst2 seems to only have SQL2000 and is a bit pricey. I'm not wanting site for anything commercial ie it's for my own pleasure rather than business use so don't want to pay a fortune.. but I guess you have to pay a fair whack more if you want a windows box it seems.

You won't have to pay too much for Windows hosting but you will have to pay for the privilege of an SQL database as the software itself is expensive and it's also quite resource hungry compared to MySQL.

Any provider offering really cheap SQL hosting is probably not paying for their licenses...
