Hello,

Yes im sorry for another one of these threads. Ive looked at the hosting review site and browsed a few threads but the thing is, my main concerns are price and DNS control.

I know the usual responses here are TSOHost / VidaHost yet VidaHost does "not yet have an automated online panel" for DNS and there is no mention on the TSOHost site.

I need to be able to add and edit records for Exchange Server testing. Who would you reccomend?

Cheers

Thanks for the replies.

I was origially thinking of using JustHost for hosting as they are dirt cheap, hosting .com's with GoDaddy and .uk's with Heart. I would then point all the nameservers to NameCheap to use their Free DNS service.

However, after spending some time to look over the VidaHost website i can see why it comes so reccomended. I am throughouly impressed by it (and noticed on the forums they are developing a DNS editior for their cPanel).

So, plan is to host with VidaHost, .com's with GoDaddy and .uk's with either VidaHost or Heart Internet.

@DJDaz - Is there any chance you could post a (heavily cencored) screen shot of the Heart DNS control panel?

Thanks for the comments

@Beansprout - thats great to hear from you.

By "Full" DNS editor do you mean the whole A/CNAME/MX/TXT etc etc as the cPanel hosting that comes from my ISP only includes a "Simple Zone Editor" for A and CNAME's? Furthermore, just wondering whether this is domain independant (i think i may have seen somewhere an automated system for global TLD's but not for .UK's)?

With regards to GoDaddy it just comes down to cost. £4.59 for a .com is pretty hard to beat - and with 6 global TLD's it does start to add up.

To be honest, with JustHost i was just liking the fact that i had "unlimited" addon domains. Ive got 10 domains registered at the moment so it was nice to have the option to have some webspace with any / all of them for a reasonable price. However, their cPanel is jammed with ads and they are consitently bombarding you with sales. Ive also read that by "unlimited" they are fine on disk space and transfer but as soon as you reach 10% CPU utilization you are instantly, without warning, cut off. Hmm.

Finally, say i were to move my .UK's to vidahost. Is my understanding correct that they will be separate to my webspace (in my.vidahost) unless i add them as addon domains (via cPanel)?

Cheers

EDIT: Oh, just as a random suggestion. Would be a very nice feature, in my opinion, if you could have a demo cPanel account for potential customers to browse around to see what they are getting - that new skin of yours needs to be shown off!
