Hello, I am new to the forums but have bought a number of parts from OCUK before, and been very happy with their service.

Also I'd like to say sorry if this isn't the correct place. As I couldn't find a help section.

But I recently built an i7 860 setup and been having a a BSOD problem, let me go into details;

I would bootup in the morning lets say, and it'd get into Windows 7 fine, I'd be doing what not, and I receive a message stating some random program has stopped working and had to close, this can be anything from Windows defender to Logitech gaming profile etc.. And it'd keep crashing, and later on I'd get a BSOD, stating nearly a different message everytime, from Memory Management to System Service Exception to page fault in non page area.

Now this is the part which baffles me, if I turn it off from the wall/PSU and wait for the green motherboard light to go off, then switch it back on at the wall/PSU and then switch it on at the computer it will work and run perfectly, with rendering/prime95 applications all day long for days. But it's only when I switch it off then on again after a fairly long time, that I receive trouble.

Other small notes; Sometimes the Nvidia driver control panel won't show up (only when it's due for a crash) and the Nvidia driver will stop responding.

Anti virus software (Avast and AVG) never have installed correctly.

Data off other computer works fine on one of my other computers. but shows up as corrupt on this new build.

I'll tell you what I've tried doing;
Rebuild.
Reinstall of Windows 7.
Windows xp.
Tested all the RAM, 1 stick, 2 stick etc..
Memtest RAM.
Different graphics drivers.
Different HDD's.
Only 1 HDD.

System Specs;
i7 860
Asus P55 Pro
8gb G Skill 1600mhz
gtx 275
1 SSD Corsair Extreme 64GB (boot)
2 WD black Cav 1tb(storage)
Corsair 850W modular PSU
Creative SoundBlaster

(all is at stock, as I don't want to overclock till I resolve this issue)

Any support, suggestions as to what to try, and what it could be, I would be very grateful.

I appreciate your time.

Tidyworks.

Try setting the voltage of the RAM/CPU manually in the BIOS. I assume it is set to AUTO by default? It may be an under/over-volting problem perhaps? That's all I've got considering your list of other remedies already tried.

EDIT: Welcome to the forums!

Ahh, thank you for the quick reply. And I hadn't thought of that, As soon as my alarm strikes tomorrow I will have a fiddle with the voltages.

Cheers.
