Hi guys,

So about 2 weeks ago I finally made the jump from Apple (specifically iPhone SE 1st Gen) to an s9, which I managed to find on Amazon seller refurbed for a great price! So far I am LOVING the phone, it's so much better than my previous phones and I forgot how much freedom you have with Android as opposed to dictatorship Apple IOS.

The only issue I have had so far is I can't seem to understand how the notifications work and how to customize them. One thing I really liked about iPhone is my screen light would turn on (when in standby mode) when I got a notification, the only option I seem to find on this phone is through the light at the top and obviously a sound/vibration.
Another issue I have with the notifications is I want it to show the most recent at the top of the phone. For some reason no matter what order I get notifications in, Instagram for example will always be prioritized at the top. Is there way to sort them into most recent first(top)?

Also I don't understand why on the Facebook app, I don't seem to get the little number notification (above the app icon badge) to tell me how many notifications I have on it until I actually open it up.

These may seem like relatively small things (and they are) but it's frustrating when it's the one thing Apple seem to get right!

Many thanks for any help or suggestions!

For notifications
There are several apps out there. to show a notification light. I use from Samsung .edge lighting + you get it from the Samsung store : Edge lighting. i also use another from the playstore called Glimpse Notifications.
as for the order i am not sure on that part

As for the facebook app.
There is a option on my sansung s20 ultra in settings>notifications>App icon badges. you then click on that then ther eis a setting called badge style number>dot.

I also use a launcher called Nova launcher prime. you get that from the playstore it is paid although you can get the free one. and change options in that if you want to dig in with icon sets and the like.

Hope this helps somewhat

Some really great and useful tips, thank you Datavampire!
I had no idea it was so simple and that you can download an app on the playstore to change notification settings, I thought it was all done in the phones main settings.
Now to try and just figure out the arrangement/sorting of the notifications most recent!

you've been a great help thanks!

No probs. i have to say though you have peaked my interest in the recent notification at the top though now. I have been using android for long now i actually never noticed it until you mentioned it lol. But from what i have read bar using an app i am not sure you can do that from reading several forum posts by multiple people asking that very question i have not found a solution as yet but i will keep looking in the meantime if you find anything out please post here.
Let us know how you get on.

I'm glad I could help then.. or not haha yes I will keep looking. Good luck!
