was thinking of going intel this time been out fo the loop for a bit not sure whats good these days .

no mater what i try i cant get vists to run with the combo i have atm

asrock 939 dual sata mobo
4400+ amd dual core
2x1 gig of balistix ddr ram

Vista should run on your current setup fine. When you say it can't run, what do you mean? Can you expand on this?

well ill try

if i use a sata drive it keeps asking for drivers and asrock dont make driver for that mobo. i tried using some drivers for the 939 dual sata but it gets so far and i get the bsod

if i use an ide i have its saying cannot find a valid volume i tried formatting it still says the same

so i gave up

Are you planning on over clocking? If not, then the retail cooler is fine (and is also ok for a small over clocker).

Your Ram looks like it's DDr, but this is DDR2 so you will need new Ram.

yes I have got those drivers , but to my understanding you need to have them installed and install vista from winxp and do a clean install.
This is where im having the problems , it goes though its setup and I either get incorrect volume on hd, When i try to install on ad ide HD
Orwhen i use Sata i get just past the coping files needed then BSOD saying system halted if this is the first time you have seen this....

I will take another look at it see if im missing something somewhere

mananged to get vitsa working only in 32bit and not in 64bit
I have posted a couple of questions about this in the windows forum area .
