Looking for a car cover for a 2015 Fiesta. The car will be sitting outside and driven maybe once a month for the next year. I won't go into the reasons why.

Also, should I be looking at wheel chocks as well, to be able to keep the handbrake off?

Thanks

I'm also interested in car cover recommendations.

But I can say you're best off just leaving it in gear with the handbrake off, no need for wheel chocks unless you're parking on a very steep hill.

Guy round the corner has his 911 covered and off the ground for c 6 months of the year and it doesn't seem to do his paint any harm. I have no idea what make the cover is but the one thing I will say is it looks very well made, good lining and insuspect bloody expensive as it seems to be custom to the car:p

I can't really see how it will come to much harm being parked up for most of the month tbh - more the brakes siezing on as above

You have to physically move it on and off the car, so anything trapped either on the inside of the cover ornoj the bodywork risks being dragged along it.

Then once it's on it can potentially move around with the wind and rub itself along the same part of bodywork over and over...

Depends on the quality of the inside lining and whether the car will be windblown. Most covers are probably only better as a dust cover. You'll probably have to pay a lot for a quality weatherproof cover.
You can get framed foldover covers that don't touch the car and even ones with blowers on that keep the msterial from touching the car.
Ultimately for a 2015 Fiesta I'd probably get a good polish and clean it regularly.
Andi.

Why would it ruin the paint?

Thanks.

most will rub against the paint in wind etc and scratch up the surface which results in those areas "clouding" up due to many micro scratches. If anything gets trapped under the cover then good luck! you might not be able to see it from distance but up-close and you'll clearly make it out.

in my opinion you do not need a cover, just wash your car when you take it out so nothing properly bakes on and you'll be fine.

Thanks for that.

Think a once a month wash and polish will be good enough to see it through the winter especially.

If outside it's better to leave the car uncovered.

Also if it's waterproof and not very breathable it will trap moisture under it.
