Recommend a Motherboard to run i7 6700k

I'm also in this same boat now.

Random query, what's the audio like on these motherboards these days? I'm still using an old X-Fi dedicated card (really old), I'd rather not look to replace.

Primary use will be, music and of course gaming (footsteps required)

Not an Asus z170 pro gamer..
Not enough USB ports.
Far too many bios updates suggest a lot of flaws, at least being fixed.
Budget selection of accessories and I paid I feel too much for it. Look at other Asus or manufacturers

I had that board. I also had to return it due to stability issue with memory.
