Plantronics make headsets for the aviation industry and NASA so they are built to last and are very high quality. The reason why I suggested the soundcard is to get the full benefit from your new headset (Dolby 5.1). It's worth it for the sake of £22 and you'll thank me in the long run whether for your music or gaming ;)

thanks for the information...

i guess its a good price...but...

i hate the design....it looks ....fat (the part that covers your ear) ...looks like ur wearing some fat headset

also ...there was a comment on OCUK:

Firstly another good order from ocuk.

The head phones arn't worth the money. To start with i am using xp (sp3) and can i get the microphone to work.(I have swapped it from my mother board sound card to the usb device) It states plug and play well i am having trouble getting the microphone to work. This item isn't 5.1the dolby effect is nowhere near the same affect as a true 5.1 headset.

Plus side they are comfortable and sound quality is okay lacking bass.Personally buy a cheaper stero headset or personally spend the extra money and get a true 5.1 or 7.1 headset.

he's like the only 1 that has rated 2 stars....how would u explain this? or is he just doing it on purpose?

sorry for the questions... first time getting a headset xD

With reviews your always going to get one or two people who have nothing good to say so it's worth taking this into account. Every other review regarding the Plantronics GameCom is positive but as you don't like the design then I would suggest looking at the Logitech or Creative range of gaming headsets. Logitech in particular have a good rep and excellent after sales support should something happen to your headset within the warranty period.

Why recommend a plantronics gamecom 777 and a Xonar DG together?

Would get better value for money just getting the xonar and a non-usb headset. The gamecom doesn have mini-jacks but you're paying for a USB soundcard that just wouldn't get used.

Better to get the DG and a non-usb headset or headphones.
