I went with a group of work friends and had food in the chophouse there and it was fantastic. Old school roasts, steak, meat etc. It was great! The building is lovely. You can easily believe its one of the oldest pubs in London. Good beer if I remember right too.
As for the porterhouse,I wouldn't recommend it. It's hardly historic, just a vaguely interesting building. I uset to work opposite it. Oh and its in the middle of covent garden so is pretty pricey tbh. Always rammed with tourists! Not fun.
