Ok, at this moment, my main PC is running an Audigy 2 ZS and Live Drive
My No2 has an XFI with a LiveDrive, and the time before these came along, I have been suing a SBLive with... Yup, a live dive... Ok, its not called a liveDrive on the XFI or Audigy but there you go.
Now, my speakers are Altec Lansing 955 and they have no volume controls, nor do they have a HeadPhone Jack socket.
This kind of forces me to use a Keyboard that has volume controls on it ( Not a worry as all half decent keyboards sort that out these days ) buyt the Headphone jack I have found to be more of a chore than expected, and it had kind of forced me into using LiveDrives of some description.
Now, not only that, but I have found the multiple INs and OUTs tobe a much more useful option than I originally thought I would... For example, I have setup one PC with the Audigy 1 and a LiveDrive from an old SBLive! purely as a DIGITAL & ANALOG MIXER for recording my Audio productions ( Listen to me FFS ) to WAV / AIF and downstairs on the ZS, I have used the Line inputs and Mic ports for having a laugh with the kids and recording them singing along to the LPs.
So, I have found the Drive bays more than useful.
The thing is now, that at this time, the A2ZS simply wont play nicely at all.
In another PC, it was fine, so *** card should be ok, and a 1024Live was able to do 5.1 but the A2ZS only does left & right and I cannot cure it and so, Im looking to defect to another card totally, but one that gives me exatly the same as the creative cards do.
Ideally Im also looking at sub-£100 prices
I am currently on XP64 and Im occasionally installing Vista64 and hope that I will be on it permanently in the near future, and I have 4GB... There seems to be some issues with creative cards, but until only 3 days ago, I was running mine just fine?
Any suggestions, please Im all ears.
