Recommend me some music OcUK

My favourite bands are Bloc Party and Interpol, I'm also a huge w.a.s and strokes fan, so the only one you're missing there is Interpol!
Listen to Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights, and Antics.
If you want some stand out tracks to listen to right away, try - 'pda', 'evil', 'obstacle 1', 'slowhands' and 'nyc'. You've listed a lot of bands I like, so I really hope you'll like Interpol, give them a couple of listens anyhow, they're worth at least that : ).

If you've got some time, give these a listen too,
Sigur Ros - Takk, beautiful album.
The Smiths - try one of their best of compilations I suppose.
The Libertines - The Libertines
The Postal Service - Give Up

Hope I was of some help!

Also, don't forget Blocs new album in a month or two, I've been listening ot it for a while now (I'm weak!) and it's really really good, a great progression from SA, in a direction I love.

Thrice - Vheissu was by far the best album i bought this year. Come to think of it, it was probably the last album i bought :(

So how come Hullabaloo doesn't seem as good as OOS? ;).

It's better. Got the sound of the songs like they were intended to be (They were written to be played live hence the beginning of hypermusic being all graunchy etc) and the addition of the bsides makes it very nice indeed.

The DVD is especially good.

I didn't think so. :p.
Have you got the Muscle Museum EP?

Nah I don't buy anything but albums really.

Apart from The Darkness - Christmas Time. That just had to be bought.

It is an album, along with the MUSE EP ;).

Intriguing... *gahoogle*

Your ninja edit doesn't fool me!

Upon googling it turns out not only are they EPs' therefore not sufficient length for me to class as an album but nearly every song is on a bigger proper album anyway :\

Oh, they're EPs are they? maybe I said :p.

As for being on a "bigger proper album", they'd sound better on the EPs than the Studio albums as they're closer to being live.

And whatever happened to Con-Science?

I can't remember it being too good, I think I lost it with my last format.

I was just stating that and EP is not a proper album, otherwise it'd be called an album, not an EP. I'm quite capable of reading your post and don't feel the need to re-state any of it to feel clever ;)

So far i have:

yellowcard
interpol
the sunshine underground
the thermals
tokyo police club
blood brothers
young knives
motion city soundtrack
maximo park
the decemberists
the postal service
the national
biffy clyro
hell is for heroes
kinesis
and you will know them by the trail of dead
the wildhearts
the red jumpsuit apparatus
incubus
dirty pretty things

Sorted :D

Surprised no one has mentioned radiohead.

Oo just got Con-Science again and it's brill. Forgot that one. Not sure it's mainstream enough to fit with the other songs on the main albums though.

I prefer Hullabaloo... But then, Citizen Erased is maybe my favourite song, certainly my favourite song live, and that's a superb version. Even if the rest of the album was mince it'd be worth the price of admission :) The DVD wins though, one of the best live recordings I've ever seen. Great gig, but also superb production- how many times do you see a cameraman?

Why is it Muse live releases can be so ropey, though? The Hullabaloo CD's missing tracks. The Glastonbury DVD doesn't have the encore... And I remember watching that on TV, it was fantastic.

Two Cd's that were left in my player for weeks at a time recently:

Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Killswitch Engage - Alive Or Just Breathing

Top Bottom
