Recommend me some 'phones!

Firstly! These are for my ipod video 30gb.

I'm sick of the awful sound quality and lack of bass and mid tones I get from my £10 sony MDR-E818LP that I bought (god knows how many) months ago as an upgrade from the standard headphones that came with the ipod (let's face it, anything's better).

SO! I'm looking to you guys for recommendations for my next set.

I HATE those in ear headphones as I use my ipod when cycling, so rather than block out ALL sound, I'd like to be able to hear traffic and things as I can with my current 'phones. Also due to my odd ear shape, pretty much any in ear ones that I've tried just don't fit snuggly and if they do, they feel really uncomfortable.

I have a budget of about £60

Look for the Yuin PK's I use the PK1s with my Ipod but they really need a headphone amp to drive them. The PK2 and PK3 are not as good sound quality wise but run really well from a standard player such as an Ipod.

Unfortunately the phones that you've ruled out are the ones with a design that lends itself to the midrange and (specifically) bass that you are seeking. I would re-think

, and go for the Sony Ultimate EX. Personally I loath the in ear design, but the Ultimate EX are the best that I've heard by far (there are probably better, but I've been seeking a decent sounding pair since Walkmans played tapes!, and this is as close as I've got lol).

Edit: Actually, if you happen to be running rockbox then it will probably power a pair of YUIN PK1's, not sure what the cost is though.

The PK1s are £71 delivered, PK2s are £35.50, PK3s £21.

I tried powering mine from a Rockbox'd Ipod and it sounded better than the standard Ipod but is not comparable to the sound from a amp'd set.

Thanks guys, I'll probably go for some pk1's or 2's (i probably won't be using them with an amp so 2's would be better according to that review).

Where can I get hold of them? I've tried googling but it seems that these only exist in forums :confused:
