Hi all.

Its getting closer to summer time and I need some ska to listen to.
Not really listened to any new music for 2+ years so need to be educated.
Anyone in the vein of Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Less than Jake etc or your own suggestions are more than welcome.

Help me cheer up my summer :D

Thanks!

How many ska kids does it take to change a lightbulb?

Five. One to drop it, and four to pickituppickituppickituppickituppickitup

Right! New music is not needed here.

Bad Manners
The Selecter
The Beat
The Specials/The Special AKA
Fun Boy Three
Rancid (they do awesome ska but it's not all they do)
Judge Dread
Hotknives

New ska's nearly all poop, sadly :( (imho)

It's not even ska, it's.. skapunk or skapop or skacore or whatever stupid name they give it. Boo hiss to that!

Try the Ordinary Boys though, the albums I mean. They've got some really good tunes imo although they're not all that ska-esque a lot of the time.

Well i've just come back from seeing the Sonic Boom Six and that should be on EVERYONES list. Without a doubt. They have a myspace, go listen damnit!

Um, lets see...

Aquabats
Big D and the Kids Table
Capdown
Catch 22
Dance Hall Crashers
The Gadjits
Jesse James
King Prawn
Liberator
Lightyear
Link 80
Mad Caddies
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Pama International (definate summertime feel)
Rx Bandits
Save Ferris
The Scrub
Skatelites
Sublime
Suburban Legends
Suicide Machines
Toasters
Ye Wiles
Howards Alias
Kenisia
Goldfinger
Stray Bullets
Streetlight Manifesto
Fat Cats
Voodoo Glowskulls
Catch-it Kebabs
Dispatch
Slapstick
Pietasters
Slackers
Selecter
Desmond Dekker
Special A.K.A
Zen Baseball Bat
Splitters
Bad Manners

Bit of variation there. Dont forget the Sonic Boom Six :D

Although i think tbh rocksteady makes a better summertime feel, but its not something i've investigated much.

If i get bored i'll come back and stick a description next to them all, but for now - it's sleep time :)
