I currently have a beQuiet 850w Pure Power 12, just upgraded to AM5 9800X3D in prep for getting a 50 series card in Jan / Feb.

I appreciate that I am going to be be on the lower end with my current PSU and am looking for recommendations on a good 1000W (I assume) PSU to swap in. I was looking at the beQuiet Dark Power 13 ones but have really heard some mixed reviews about them being noisy or worse faulty. I know seasonic is often recommened but not sure where to buy and at what price point (is plat / titanum worth is over gold etc). I am looking for as low noise (both in fan and whine) as I can get but also keen to pay for something that is good quality even if I need to pay more for that.

Thanks for any advice.

Power draw up to 450w for the 5080 , 600w for the 5090 so you should be fine with 850w for the 5080 . The GPU will come with a 16pin to 3xi pin adapter so older PSU work.

If you definitely want a bigger PSU you can get the NZXT C Series 1200W Full Modular PCIe 5.0 80+ Gold Power Quiet Supply/PSU ATX3.0 for £120 .

Gold rated is fine anything above that is margins of efficiency.
Thank you Micky, that is really helpful, thank you for taking the time to respond.
