Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade my existing titan system - with the target of fsx. My system eats everything else for breakfast it seems lol.

Current Spec:

- Power Supply: OCZ ZS 650w PSU
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.60GHz Sandybridge CPU
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: OcUK H2 Flo Extreme CPU Cooler
- RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Hard Drive: 500GB HDD
- Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX570
- Sound: Realtek 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: LG DVD+/-RW SATA Drive

My only problem with it is a) FSX b) Loud Fans (can hear it from the lounge (NOT GOOD :/)

I am looking at the overclocked gaming bundles - specifically the I7 Range

I will state that I am new to this and not sure what else I need to get - e.g. New PSU etc

FSX is old and nasty - very cpu dependant - unlike most titles
I am looking at probably putting the os on a ssd (for some reason my current one only shows up in the bios) files on one hdd and fsx separate

Thanks for any help :)

Uhm.. you realise you have a 2nd gen i5 right? upgrading from that is POINTLESS. Get some new fans that are quieter. Will cost you like 30 quid max. You could do what you are suggesting with a hdd and SSD would be a good idea. keep everything seperate and easy to find etc.

yeah you can't really improve on the cpu by much maybe 20% for £600 worth of processor and that wouldn't be worth it.

20% for £600? you know the SB-E processors are the same architecture as SB right? The IPC is pretty much the same and thats all that matters really.
