Please can I have some recommendations on motherboards, I have about £90 to spend, buying these, if that help?:

Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail
and
PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 XT Extreme SILENT Heatpipe 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

So need something that will suit that. If you need anymore information, I will be happy to provide.

Thanks you
Chris

Hi Chris

Can you let us know if there are any features you require or emphasis you want the motherboard to have. For example - do you want SLi / Crossfire and therefore two PCI-E slots? Do you need a certain number of PCI slots? Do you need firewire? Do you need future-proofing e.g. DDR3 support?

Sorry,

I would prefer it to be Future proof with ddr3, but at the moment I'm only using ddr2. [2 gig]

After asking a few people sli/xfire doesn't seem like I'm wanting to do, so no that's not important for me at this time.

I'm not a big guy on sound, so most likely would just use on board sound.

I would also like firewire please to connect video camera to.

so yes, the best I can get for about £90-£100 :)

Thank you

Thank you for recommendations, I like the look of the:
Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard

Also while I was searching, I came across this, is it any good, would it suit me?
Asus P5KC Combo Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard

What does the chipset refer to, does it matter which one I go for?

Of the Abit Fatal1ty board, but just the fact it's Fatal1ty puts me off :P It's like buying Nike trainers because they say "nike" :P

But included it anyway just as comparison, any of them?

I have this board and it's been faultless so far. Very stable and a good overclocker (100% stable overclock with my E2140 [see sig]).

It's got good functionality and connectivity and SLi / XFire is useless anyway imo unless you're running a massive monitor.

afaik no firewire though on the DS3R or the Fatality & you stated that as a requirement?
That Asus may be the best bet for what you have stated.
