Recommended 27" monitor for gaming PC

Hi all,

I'm getting very confused re the huge choice of monitors! Looking for a decent monitor for my sons PC which is running a GTX1660. He says it needs to be minimum 144hz and 1ms r/rate with a flat panel. He plays mostly FPS games in a darkened room (typical teenager) and quite close to the screen so please factor this in.
Budget £300-400

I'd opt for a Msi Optix monitor. They have plenty ranging from 1080p to 1440p. Find out what resolution he's playing at. They'll come in 144hz/165hz/240hz flavours and fit well into your budget
