Hi, I have an asrock fatal1ty pro z68 motherboard that recently died on me (coolant leak from CPU block!) and I'm in need of a new MB now.
All components still work, tested on friends board with no issues.
My system is:
Intel i5 2500k processor (overclocked to 5GHz).
2*4GB Corsair vengeance 1600 1.35v ram.
2*evga 560ti superclocked graphics cards in sli.
1*Western Digital Caviar green sata 2 1TB Hard drive.
1*OCZ vertex3 data 3 60GB SSD (Used as Intel smart response cache).
1*blueray sata drive.
1*DVD+-RW sata drive.
Corsair D800 case.
Corsair 1200 Watt psu.

Any recommendations to a new MB that will return good overclocking and use of equipment? Not adding any more sata devices in the near future and don't use usb3 or esata, so not worried about compromise elsewhere.
Thank-you.
Chris.

As you already know all your gear is compatible... and you know you can get 5GHz on your previous board - why change?
What more do you want in a different board?

you could look at the msi motherboards theres an offer on certain ones at the moment or get another fatality

Its more a case of £215 for a board where I only use a fraction of its connections seems a bit pointless, I was wondering if there are any MB out there closer to the £150 mark that are still grate at overclocking but don't have for instance additional sata 3 or USB 3 ports, or even pcie 16 3.0, as I have no intention of using these untilled my next build in say 3 years, which will be a complete new build anyway.
I think I'm looking for something that has:
good oc ability
2 sata 3 ports, 4 or so sata 1/2 ports...

Thanks for the quick reply though. All suggestions are welcome.

Cheers for the replys, i'v looked at a couple of msi, asus and gigabyte MB. Any suggestions from this list? Gigabyte Z68X-UD5 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)
MSI Z68A-GD65-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)
MSI Z68A-GD55-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)
Asus P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)
Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)

Cheers for the suggestions, went for the msi gd65 gen 3 and overclocked to 4.7GHz stable. Turns out my ssd is damaged, BIOS sees it but system can't boot up past post with it installed. Tried it on friends board and same problem. Guess I'll be needing a new one.

Is this with a fresh install of windows or is it an existing install?

Tried from existing setup then wiped hard drive with BIOS in non raid setup and installed w7 on only the 2TB hard drive with ssd not plugged in.

Then connected ssd up, BIOS recognised it but when windows 7 loaded up there is no ssd drive found.

Tried on a friends Linux system and Linux can see it but only 32MB of storage space. Odd and a write pain in the rear.
