Recording Audio 2 people 1 camera.

I am trying to record audio for some videos that I am making, they will have 2 people talking in them.

If there was 1 person I would be able to record it using a smartphone and a lavalier mic, is there any cheap solution to record 2 people? I dont think 2 smartphones and mics would work and 2 lavs into one phone would be impractical.

Has anyone done something similar before?

Standard practice is to use two mics, one is connected to the left and the other connected to the right channel. Not sure how you'd pull that off with a phone, a stereo jack to mono jack splitter might work. Most cameras I use have 2 mic inputs. The other alternative is to have a small mixer and connect two mics into it (fade one left the other right) and then a single stereo out to the camera.
