Me drummer mate is back from uni for the year, so I fancy whipping out the guitar and recording a few songs with him. Now we're not after anything mega professional, but I'd simply like a way of recording music on more than one layer so I can record some guitar riffs, and then get him to record the drums on a separate layer and get them merged.
Now I know there's software such as Sound Forge knocking around, but is there anything free or at least cheap with a trial? I'll be recording from my amp directly to my laptop…… Drums will just be mic'd up!
