Recovery CDs for presario V4000 - HELP!!!!!

After a years worth of trouble free use windows on my laptop has gone for a burton. Thats the good news!

The bad news is i can't find the recovery discs that came with the laptop.

Is there any way i can get replacements out of compaq?

compaq? i'm sure there's recovery images in hidden partition, press F10 or F12 when boot up

Compaq and other PC companies will normally be able to supply recovery media for around £25 - £50 if you give them a ring. I don't have the number to hand. If it doesn't have a built in recovery partition then it will more than likely use 2 discs, one an OEM copy of windows and the other a driver disc. Even if you don't have the driver disc, compaq and HP are quite good with getting drivers off the website, although you wont have the software that came shipped with it, ie CD Burning etc.
