Red Triangle/unresponsive HTC One.

Which HTC One, the M7 or M8? What was you doing on the phone before it crashed?

M7. I won't have the phone on me until night as it belongs to the Mrs. She was probably just looking at Facebook. So normal usage.

As far as I can tell it v was going through an update.

The red triangle is stock recovery. Has she tried resetting it?

It wont go beyond the initial boot screen that says "HTC Android" on a factory reset so I'm stumped?

Sounds like the update failed and corrupted some stuff. I suggest running this RUU while it's on the bootloader screen (the white screen with the option to select recovery mode) and see if that works: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/

Try this, make sure to uninstall HTC Sync and the stock HTC drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263822

Unfortunately Windows 7 won't recognize the relevant . inf file even if I point it to the directory manually. I can't understand why, as far back as 2011people were having problems installing mtp drivers and bugger all has been done about it?
