Hi all

I used to run ccleaner every week or so when I ran XP SP2, but I keep hearing conflicting things about registry cleaning and Vista - I run the 64 bit version. Is it really necessary?

Does Vista do a better job of housekeeping than XP did? What do you guys use or do you not bother with it?

You don't need to run it weekly to see any difference...every a month or two would do.

Use it if you have uninstalled some applications.

As above, you dont need to run it every week, thats a bit OTT. I normally run ccleaner once every month or two just to clear out the temp files then while im there I'll do a reg scan if I've made a lot of changes recently

Or just set it to run during startup. Apart from the registry cleaner which I do whenever I uninstall stuff I don't bother touching ccleaner.
