Remove Date and Time stamp

Hi All

I've just noticed that a fair few of my pictures from a Sony P8 camera have a time and date stamp (in bright red!!) on them in a place where you can't really crop it out because you would lose a large amount of the picture - bottom right but a fair way up and into the picture. They are spoiling the pictures and I would like to remove them so that they look a lot better

I've got some on the camera at the moment and notice that when I scroll between the pictures that the time stamp does not seem to be there when you first look at the picture but then it appears. I've turned off the feature but this does not seem to have worked on removing the date/time on the ones that I have already taken on the camera ready to be transferred

Is there anyway to remove this or is it permanently embedded within the picture?

There should be an option within the menu to disable the date stamp, mate.

I've just read the manual for the Camera, and it appears that once the date is there it there, sorry.

Perhaps you can try a bit ofsmart blending in Photoshop (on a copy of the image first of course.)

Thanks for the reply Blackvault. I've turned this option off, but the stamp is still appearing on pictures I've already taken

New ones from now on though are not affected, but I need to fix the previous ones

Gonna have to get friendly with the clone tool in photoshop to fix old ones methinks

It looks like in the thumbnail these dates are not there, but in the main picture it is.

Does this mean that is is reading the data from some sort of "Header" location and I could delete the data from there? I'm not familiar with this but if I can't see it in the thumbnail then surely it must be removable from the main picture
