Renaultsport Megane 225

Used to be able to get a new cup for 14k on broadspeed.com but just looking now they are back up to full price :(. The cup has everything you want plus better wheels, steering and brakes. Unless you want the faffy optional extras then the cup rules.

Excellent drive as well, I was shocked thinking it was going to be a lardy hatch with a nippy engine, but it was really really good. I'd swap my 172 for one anyday.

Anyone who paid twenty grand for a Megane 225 is a plonker. They'd have been going for about 16k new.
Absolutely.

The Trophy version rules the roost, stonking car.

I haven't driven a Megane at 7/10ths but I was fairly impressed by them, particularly the torque & feeling that you could happily push quite hard.
Downside was that it didn't feel 'fast' & they don't particulary hold value well.

I would NOT swap me Cup for an RS.Megane! :P

I thought the Trophey was kind of a hybrid though, Cup chassis etc but with the trimmings of the full fat?

Wen I drove it down normal roads it didn't feel fast, but then taking it down some lovely B roads and giving it some I was impressed with the pickup. Hearing that turbo whistling in third the needle was hitting x0mph very quickly :)

I'd only swap for the cup, I really loved it. Dealers were great I must say as well, gave me the keys, asked how long I wanted it for, then gave me petrol money :P

Yeah it already had plenty in but the chap gave me a pre written cheque and said go roung the corner and whack some more in if you like, how could I say no :P

Was a really nice guy actually, when I got back they didn't try and flog me a trophey or one with every extra etc, he said the only one worth getting in his opinion was the cup.

Just thought I'd say I see that Broadspeed are back with their Cups for £14,200, bargain imho :) That's for a new uk car.
